Maps to help you find the places that matter.

Maps to indicate location of Melin-y-Coed and surrounding farms, roads, and locations.

These maps may appear small on screen, but can be downloaded and enlarged.

The employee of a certain utility company was seen calling at the homes in Melin-y-Coed in the course of his work using a copy of one of our "home made" maps. We are pretty proud about that - if you find them useful please let us know! We might not spot you ourselves wandering the village with a printout of "our" map in your hand!

If you have access to old maps of properties or houses which no longer exist and can fill in any gaps in our knowledge (such as the location of Cae Dafydd Llwyd between Ty Gwyn and Highgate) we should be glad to hear from you.

Above: This map illustrates the relationship of Melin y Coed to other places in the locality in a North-South corridor. It includes some old buildings long gone as well as present day ones. It also shows some little streams which don't appear on other maps.

The map above first appeared in Yr Odyn, community newspaper of the area, some years ago, and this private copy has been used consistently since 1993. It has now had English translations added to it.

The map above also appeared in Yr Odyn, and has similarly been used since 1993, when the original was photocopied for a visitor to the area. English translations have been added.

We thank Yr Odyn and Dei Bryniog for permission to use the maps above.

This framed picture of the Melin y Coed area is a jigsaw of a Google Earth image.
